Supporting Donetsk Regional Medical Clinical Association
Implementation years: 2008-2015
In October 2008, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation provided a 64-slice helical computed tomography scanner to the department of computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging at the Diagnostic Center of Donetsk Regional Medical Clinical Association (DOKTMO).
The scanner’s high sensitivity allowed to diagnose brain pathologies, breast diseases and vascular diseases at early stage, and to perform multiphase examinations of liver and the cardiovascular system.
As part of this project, the Foundation also purchased automatic analyzers for DOKTMO laboratories: an Immulite 1000 immunochemiluminescent assay analyzer, an Olympus AU-640 automatic biochemical analyzer, and Rotor Gene 6000 equipment for polymerase chain reaction.
The use of this high-tech equipment helped significantly improve the quality of examination and reduce test time.
During 2008-2012 alone, over 20,000 patients underwent quality examination using computed tomography scanner at the Diagnostic Center of Donetsk Regional Medical Clinical Association.
The Diagnostic Center of Positron-Emission Tomography with a laboratory making radiopharmaceutical agents was also built for DOKTMO as part of this project.
