The Center's volunteers will issue humanitarian aid in Bakhmut raion

23.06.2017

Despite the continuing hostilities in the East of Ukraine, Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center keeps helping civilian population. Food packages are issued to residents of the "grey zone" and frontline towns. There are fixed issuing points operating in the settlements observing constant shelling.

For example, over the entire period of the Center's operation, residents of continuously shelled Avdiivka received more than 65,000 adult and 3,000 children food packages. And in Marinka, which practically borders Donetsk, volunteers issued more than 25,000 food packages.

The Humanitarian Center's mobile volunteers also keep on helping and delivering aid to the most remote settlements of the "grey zone".

The teams of mobile volunteers deliver humanitarian aid to the places where people really need it – villages of the "grey zone". The infrastructure suffered a lot in these settlements: the roads are broken, there are disruptions with electricity and mobile connection, pharmacies ad grocery stores are not working. Many residents lost their jobs and barely make ends meet. On June 23 and 24 our volunteers will visit Bakhmut raion – Luhanske and Novoluhanske villages. On June 25 and 26 the mobile volunteers will visit Shumy, Druzhba and Sievernyi", - Mykhailo Katerynchak, the Head of "Assistance to the Population" program of Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center, said.

Over the entire period of the Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center's operation 11, 793,000 food packages were issued on both sides of the contact line.
