23.06.2016

Yesterday, on June 22, more than 100 civilians of the frontline Krasnohorivka received humanitarian aid.  Despite the severe shelling of the town at night, Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center opened its issuing point.

The town of Krasnohorivka belongs to Marinka raion and located in the "grey zone", on the very contact line. The town has been considerably damaged due to military actions, many of the enterprises are not functioning, the institutions are transferred to the neighbouring Kurakhove.

"Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center provides assistance to Krasnohorivka civilians for almost a year, since July 2015. According to our volunteers, the situation in the town is tense now, there are destructions of residential houses and injured people there again. Our issuing point started its weekly work there since yesterday. Altogether, we are planning to issue food packages to 1,700 residents of the most vulnerable categories", ‒ Oleksandr Vyshniakov, the Humanitarian Center's Director, shared.

During the first day the humanitarian aid from the Center was received mainly by pensioners, disabled people and families with many children. During the next few days food packages will be issued to all the categories of the Humanitarian Center. Altogether, Krasnohorivka residents were issued more than 14,300 food packages, where 725 were children kits aimed at babies under 35 months old.

Also Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center is helping with medical treatment of three women, residents of Krasnohorivka, who suffered due to recent shelling.

"Our specialists constantly keep in touch with the attending doctors. The victims already have all the necessary medications and bandages for operations purchased for them", – Oleksandr Vyshniakov specified.

As of June 23, 2016, Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center issued over 8,582,000 adult and children survival kits on both sides of the contact line.
