Rinat Akhmetov Foundation gave a ventilator to the hospital in Cherkasy Region

Monastyryshche Central District Hospital, Cherkasy Oblast, received a high-end ventilator from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.

"As part of the unprecedented project Fighting COVID-19 in Ukraine of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, the country's public hospitals received over 200,000 units of personal protective equipment and 337,000 rapid tests. The purchase of more than 200 cutting-edge ventilators for public hospitals has become crucial to assist the country in this fight. Over 185 high-quality ventilators from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation were delivered to the main hospitals in 18 regions of the country. This is high-end intensive care equipment. Such devices will even be relevant and necessary to help those who are seriously ill and to save the lives of people throughout Ukraine years from now," Natalya Yemchenko, member of the Supervisory Board of the Foundation, said.

According to doctors, today's event was really special for them.

"Our district is the extreme points of Cherkasy Oblast. We are very grateful to the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation for such an expensive and vital gift – a ventilator. Thank you very much," Director of the hospital, Natalya Moroz, said.

Local authorities also noted the importance of assistance from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.

"On behalf of the residents of Monastyryshche District and medical workers, I would like to express my gratitude to the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation for the ventilator, which is very necessary now. The coronavirus affected our district drastically," Head of the Health Department of Cherkasy Regional State Administration Oleh Naidan, said.

Deputy Head of Cherkasy Regional State Administration, Larysa Kosheva, said that this day was truly festive for the district:

"This device is surely much required in the hospital. It is necessary to help save lives of patients with various conditions.”

Along with the ventilator, the doctors of the intensive care unit received sets of individual medical clothing from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.

Fighting COVID-19 in Ukraine is a large-scale project of the Foundation created to help save people's lives. It is implemented under the program Rinat Akhmetov – Saving Lives. Earlier, Rinat Akhmetov launched 200 Ambulances for Ukraine, which was was implemented as part of this program. Back then, all regional state medical institutions received 200 special vehicles with state-of-the-art military equipment that can get over off-road conditions within the record time of six months. Moreover, 22 vehicles equiped with ventilators`for newborns were also delivered. This is the largest contribution made by one philanthropist to the state medicine of Ukraine since our country became independent. These days, many of these ambulances are involved in the fight against the coronavirus epidemic.
