11 thousand “survival kits” to be delivered by the mobile teams in March

The mobile delivery teams will bring survival kits for 24 settlements of the “grey zone” in March. Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center continues to help civilians by issuing product packages directly on the contact line - where it is the most difficult humanitarian situation. The region's infrastructure has been severely damaged by shelling, many buildings have been destroyed. Power, water, food and medications supply is constantly disrupted. According to the UN, more than a million people in Donbas lack food.

That is why, there are fixed delivery centers in the zone of military conflict, where people who need help may come and get product packages. The Humanitarian Centers has already issued more than 12 million sets on both sides of the contact line since day one of its operation.

Unfortunately, not all civilians can reach the fixed delivery centers. For them, in May 2015, mobile teams delivering products to places where there is no way to open fixed delivery centers were created.

“Mobile teams are a unique system for delivering survival kits to the most vulnerable social groups, including elderly and disabled people, children and large families,” says Mykhailo Katerynchak, the head of “Assistance to the Population” programme, says. “Developed by the Humanitarian Center, it has been helping to save thousands of people from starvation for almost three years actually.”

In March, mobile volunteers will go to the “grey zone”, to deliver more than 11 thousand “survival kits” to the civilians.
