The Museum of Civilian Voices of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation to Hold Panel Discussions as Part of the Odesa International Film Festival: Agenda and Topics

The program of this year’s Odesa International Film Festival (OIFF) will include a series of panel discussions organized by the Museum of Civilian Voices of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. The Museum is a partner of the OIFF’s documentary section, the Film Industry Office, and a contributor to the prize fund of the festival, which will commence on 19 August and this year will be held in Chernivtsi.


Each of the discussion panels organized by the Museum will be moderated by Natalya Yemchenko, Public Relations and Communications Director at SCM and a member of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation’s Supervisory Board.


In particular, on 25 August, the participants of the event will discuss the following topics:


12:20 — 13:20: How to shoot films about war: ethics and pitfalls in covering events


Speakers:
— Yulian Ulybin (director of the films Dram, and Children of Bomb Shelters)
— Ivanna Khitsinska (producer of Babylon`13, founder of Quatros Group, films The Iron Hundred, Mariupol Fortress)
— Maciek Hamela (director of the film From Where to Where)
— Iryna Khranovska, chief producer of the TV series section at ICTV and ICTV 2 TV channels
— Darya Kasyanova, the national program development director of the charity SOS Children’s Villages Ukraine and Head of the Board of the Ukrainian Network for Children’s Rights (civil society organization)
— Oleh Chaban, psychotherapist. 


14:30 — 15:30: The place of documentary cinema in the development and formation of social institutions. What can cinematography change?

— Darya Bassel, producer (Moon Man film company), head of the industrial platform Docudays UA
— Anastasia Shteinhaus, executive director of ICTV, ICTV2, head of Starlight Doc.


15:30 — 16:30: Internationalization of documentary cinema. How to make the content understandable to international audiences: tools, laws, and rules of the game

— Olha Beskhmelnytsina (producer, film The Rule of Two Walls)
— Ihor Savychenko (producer, film The Volunteer’s Day, The Independence Day).


The Museum of Civilian Voices of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation collects and stores the stories of Ukrainian civilians about their experiences during the war. Documentary films are another way to capture the war experience of Ukrainians and share it with the world. This is a joint mission, within the framework of which the Museum supports documentary cinema in Ukraine and the world.
