Fraud Warning from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation
Fraudsters have become active in Ukraine in the guise of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation’s staff, insinuating themselves into the citizens’ trust. Their primary victims are mostly people in difficult life situations, as well as pensioners and the elderly.
In particular, Lyudmyla Sukhina, a resident of Kharkiv region, reported that in Doslidne village two unknown women visited a house where IDPs live. Under the pretext of providing humanitarian aid, they took the passport details of the tenants.
In this regard, we kindly remind you that the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation is the largest charitable organization in Ukraine, which does not grant direct financial assistance and does not raise funds. Help from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation can be obtained only after an official call to the Foundation’s hotline. Its staff members do not address citizens privately and do not collect personal information, nor do they make apartment-by-apartment (or house-by-house) visits. The Foundation’s assistance is provided on a charitable basis, i.e., free of charge.
If you have been approached in person or receive suspicious calls from alleged staff members of the Foundation, please report it to our hotline 0800509001 and contact the police.
PLEASE BE VIGILANT AND COMMUNICATE THIS WARNING TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS!
