"Thank you for your considerable help": a seriously injured resident of Kherson undergoes rehabilitation from Rinat Akhmetov Foundation
Viktor Zubenko from Kherson sustained a minefield injury a few weeks after the city was de-occupied He has undergone extensive treatment, but his injured arm has not fully recovered. The 70-year-old man, who has a disability, recently underwent a course of physical and psychological rehabilitation from Rinat Akhmetov Foundation at a health resort in the Transcarpathian region.
"This help is significant, thank you for this opportunity. It's getting better now. Somewhere after the third massage session, I felt my body relaxing and becoming less stiff. I also went to see a psychologist, we had a good talk, which is also important after all the shelling," says Viktor.
The man was on the street when he heard the whistling of shells. The soldiers provided him with first aid and took him to the trauma centre. Then he had a complicated emergency surgery and long-term treatment, as well as a forced move to another region.
"I found out about the opportunity to take a recovery course through a telegram channel. I made a phone call. And Rinat Akhmetov Foundation helped me with my rehabilitation to get back on my feet. It is important to support people," he says.
Victor dreams and hopes to return to his home in Kherson, restore what he has lost and work again - at least in his own farm.
