The seventh Humanitarian Center's food convoy in August is already in Donetsk
The convoy of Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center arrived in Donetsk on August 19 in the evening.
15 trucks delivered 300 tons of food to the Humanitarian Center's logistic warehouse in Donbas Arena: flour, oat flakes, canned sardines, peas, sugar, condensed milk, cereals, sunflower oil and pate. Tomorrow the volunteers start forming 30,000 food packages for adults.
The trucks passed all the checkpoints on their way and the customs inspection with the full package of documents, legalized in compliance with all norms and procedures, according to the current legislation of Ukraine, and confirming the cargo content and the quality of products. There was also the order of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine on recognition of this cargo as humanitarian. You can see the documents for cargo here.
This is the seventh convoy sent to Donbas in August. Thanks to the smooth delivery of products to non-government-controlled areas of Donbas there are 32 fixed issuing points of the Humanitarian Center functioning in the region as of today. Besides, the humanitarian aid is also being delivered to the homes of single elderly and disabled people in Donetsk and eight nearby towns by mobile teams of volunteers. Over the year of Humanitarian Center's operation 6,000 people were provided with targeted assistance.
It is planned to send two humanitarian aid drives to Donbas in August, and based on results of deliveries to the logistic centres of Donetsk and Mariupol, they will form 420,000 adult survival kits and 39,000 children packages, all aimed for Donbas civilians on both sides of the contact line.
