Targeted Aid

Implementation years: 2006-2019

This was the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation’s very first systemic program, launched in January 2006 to provide help to people who found themselves in a difficult situation and needed urgent medical treatment. Often, the help to a particular person would grow into the help to whole institutions. The principle of this program was laid down by the Foundation’s founder Rinat Akhmetov: “To help here and now”.

As part of this project, for example, the Foundation purchased new treatment and diagnostic equipment for Luhansk City Hospital, artificial lung ventilation devices for four hospitals in Kyiv, Donetsk and Rivne, braille printing equipment for Lviv Polytechnic Institute. And also, the Foundation provided support to Animated Films for the Blind project, created Lectures for Medical Colleges audio courses for visually impaired students, equipped a general practice outpatient department in Staromykhailivka…

Targeted Aid became the basis for Rinat Akhmetov’s personal charity.

The program gave birth to numerous areas of the Foundation’s activity, which eventually became separate projects under “Rinat Akhmetov to Children!” umbrella program. These projects include Rehabilitation of Wounded Children, Medicines for Children, Healthy Heart and I Can Hear Now.

During the past five years alone, almost 50,000 persons received targeted aid. In particular, over 11.5 thousand persons including over 6.4 thousand children received targeted aid for medical treatment.
