"This is one of the best rehabilitations": severely injured Nataliia from Dnipropetrovsk region undergoes rehabilitation course by Rinat Akhmetov Foundation
An enemy Iskander hit their house in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Her husband found Nataliia under the rubble. A few hours later, he found her daughter. Unfortunately, two-year-old Liza was killed, and Nataliia was severely injured. She recently underwent a physical and psychological rehabilitation course from Rinat Akhmetov Foundation at a health resort in the Transcarpathian region.
"There are many different treatments here. I liked the thermal bath, the mineral pool, the salt room. I also need inhalations because my lungs are badly damaged. I am very grateful. This is one of the best rehabilitations I've had in the past year, during which I've been undergoing treatment and trying to recover," Nataliia says.
It is difficult for her to talk about her experiences. She and her daughter always went to the shelter during air threats. That evening, the alarm was not raised in Pidhorodne, a town in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The woman was cooking dinner and did not even hear the whistle of the missile.
"Nataliia had many injuries. To save her, we had to put her into an induced coma. Now she is unable to work due to disability and is undergoing intensive treatment. Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has helped a lot. For us, people who have found themselves in difficult life circumstances related to the war, such rehabilitation is necessary," says Vladyslav, Nataliia's husband.
They both miss Lisa very much. The mother often dreams about her daughter... Understanding this, the psychologists and medical team during the Foundation's rehabilitation course make every effort to support and help parents who are experiencing a terrible loss.
Under the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Wounded Adults programme, Rinat Akhmetov Foundation provides assistance to Ukrainian residents who suffered from hostile shelling of residential areas: treatment, rehabilitation, psychological help, etc.
Since 2014, the Foundation has provided treatment and rehabilitation assistance to more than 11,000 Ukrainians.
