The third year of the full-scale invasion: Rinat Akhmetov Foundation stands by those who need help

Today is the third year since the start of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The third year of testing the resilience, concern and inner strength of every Ukrainian. Since the first days of the war in 2014, Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has launched a programme of assistance for civilians. Since February 24, 2022, it has been responding to requests for support from people who have found themselves in difficult circumstances due to the war.
The main areas of work of the Rinat Akhmetov – Saving Lives programme remain unchanged. These include providing people with food, medicine, psychological support, medical treatment and rehabilitation after injuries. In particular:
— 13.4 million sets of essential food have been delivered to civilians on the frontline, in the near-frontline areas and to internally displaced people across Ukraine;
— More than 1 million Ukrainians have received help from the Foundation’s qualified psychologists;
— 800,000 units of medicines and haemocontainers were donated by the Foundation to medical institutions in Ukraine and to the public;
— More than 11 thousand people have been provided with treatment and rehabilitation assistance;
— The Foundation helps to equip common areas in social housing under the “YaMariupol. Housing” project.
In addition, the Foundation continues to take care of children:
— Almost 6 million children from all over Ukraine received support under the Rinat Akhmetov to Children programme;
— After the russian terrorist attack in July 2024, the Foundation donated medical equipment to Okhmatdyt. Thanks to it, more than 4,000 children will be able to undergo accurate diagnostics and life-saving surgeries every year;
— 5,000 children had a rest, improved their health and received psychological assistance as part of the Rinat Akhmetov to Children. Peaceful Summer project;
— 170 rehabilitation courses were held for children injured in the hostilities.
— More than 230 children under the age of 7 received assistance with hearing prosthetics.
Since 2014, the Foundation has been collecting and storing stories of Ukrainian civilians about the war. To date, more than 130,000 people have entrusted their stories to the Museum of Civilian Voices founded by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.
