“There are no bad children”: Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has been supporting a family-type orphanage for 10 years

06.01.2025

Lidiia is a mother-teacher at a family-type orphanage in Kyiv. The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has been constantly helping this large and friendly family for 10 years as part of the “No to Orphanage!” project, which is part of the “Rinat Akhmetov to Children” program.

Initially, it was food aid, but over time, the support expanded. Lidiia’s family actively participates in all the Foundation’s initiatives. Children enthusiastically read the Your Superpower Telegram channel, where they find inspiring stories and useful advice, and constantly receive congratulations and New Year’s gifts. This year, the family took part in a bright New Year’s event in Kyiv, organized as part of the New Year’s Rinat Akhmetov to Children campaign.

“I am sincerely grateful to the Foundation for its help, for the emotions and gifts, and for the kind hearts. You give children hope and faith in a better future”, the woman says.

The path to a family-style home began for Lidiia in 2007. Today, more than 15 years later, she has raised 22 children — two natural sons and 20 adopted children. This large house is not just a place to live, but a space of love and warmth. Lidiia regularly participates in webinars that the Foundation holds for adoptive parents, sharing her own experience.

“Children are my life’s work. I see them growing up, creating their own families. This is my inspiration. They say genes decide everything. But I disagree. I believe that there are no bad children: Love and care can change the fate of any child”, says the woman
