How Artificial Intelligence Works: Metinvest Digital Expert Holds Training Session at “Blogger Camp”

How to use artificial intelligence safely, where AI technologies are being used today, and why critical thinking remains more important than any algorithm – these were the questions explored by participants of the second summer session of “Blogger Camp,” organized by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.

The children took part in an engaging workshop on artificial intelligence led by Maksym Balaniuk, Chief Innovation and Development Officer at Metinvest Digital. The event combined a lively discussion, practical tasks, a quiz, and a discussion of real-life examples of how modern technologies are used.

“Live communication opened up a lot of new things for me. Once again, I became convinced that the youth of Ukraine are the best. The children know a great deal about technology, have strong critical thinking skills, know how to engage in discussions, and stand up for their opinions. Today, we talked about artificial intelligence and its various aspects – not only as a technology, but also more broadly about how to live with it, how to work with it, and what positive effects can be gained from interacting with it. As a company representing heavy industry, we are one of the leaders in the use of artificial intelligence. It helps us realize opportunities and turn dreams into reality,” Maksym Balaniuk said.

The training generated lively interest among the young participants. The children actively joined the discussion: they shared their thoughts on the possibilities of artificial intelligence, asked questions, and debated with the expert.

“I really enjoyed today’s training. I learned a lot of new things about artificial intelligence, including some interesting facts about it, and it was very useful,” said Viktoriia, a Camp participant.

According to 14-year-old Sasha, the training helped him look at modern technologies from a new perspective:

“The training gave me new knowledge. I became more interested in artificial intelligence and, perhaps thanks to this training, I will study it more deeply in the future.”

The Foundation notes that such meetings help children master modern technologies, develop critical thinking, and use digital tools consciously. In addition, they can become the first step toward choosing a future profession.

“Blogger Camp” always offers engaging and diverse activities that help Ukrainian youth believe in their own strength, relax and improve their health outdoors, make new friends, and look confidently toward their own future and the future of their country despite the challenges of today.

Thanks to the program “Rinat Akhmetov - to Children. Peaceful Recreation for the Children of Ukraine,” more than  5,000 children from different parts of the country have already had the opportunity to regain strength, find hope, and gain new impressions. Over the years of the Foundation’s work, more than 6 million children in Ukraine have received support.
