The first convoy of the 18th Humanitarian Aid Drive of Rinat Akhmetov arrives in Donetsk
The first convoy of the 18th Humanitarian Aid Drive of Rinat Akhmetov, which left Dnipropetrovsk today, arrived in Donetsk to Donbas Arena stadium.
37 heavy trucks delivered 740 tons of food products to Donbas: sugar, flour, oil, cereals, pasta, tinned fish and meat, oats, condensed milk and canned pate. Soon the volunteers of Shakhtar Football Club will form 50,000 survival kits for elderly and disabled people, mothers of many children and other categories of population entitled to benefits, and glue a sticker to each product unit: "Humanitarian Aid. Not for sale".
Every day hundreds of volunteers form humanitarian packages in Donbas Arena:
"Once I came here to help older ladies from my apartment building to receive humanitarian aid. And I asked to stay here and try to work as a volunteer. I had such a great pleasure from helping people. I was so inspired that when I came back home I said: I want to stay here, at the Humanitarian Center, and help people", - Natalya Kotova shares about her volunteer work at Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center.
Humanitarian aid of Rinat Akhmetov Center is aimed for civilians, residing in ATO area, and IDPs on the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, controlled by Ukrainian government. "Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center continues working on delivery of 500,000 survival kits and 30,000 children packages in April. As part of this goal 37 heavy trucks with 740 tons of products started today from Dnipropetrovsk for Donetsk. This amount of products will allow to form 50,000 survival kits", - commented Oleksandr Vyshnyakov, the Head of Humanitarian Aid Direction at Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center.
It bears reminding that before sending the entire humanitarian load as part of Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Aid Drive to Donbas, it was registered in the Ministry of Social Policy as humanitarian aid in compliance with the latest legal requirements. Before the trucks and the load started for Donetsk, they were sealed in the presence of mass media. With all necessary permit documents the convoy passed Ukrainian customs and all checkpoints.
