Winners of the All-Ukrainian Essay Contest, "My Ukraine" by Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, have been announced
Almost four thousand creative works were sent to the Museum of Civilian Voices of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation by the participants of the All-Ukrainian essay contest "My Ukraine." This is a record number - and the Foundation's team carefully read each essay and a representative of the State Scientific Institution "Institute for Modernisation of Education Content," which has been involved in the competition for the third year in a row. Earlier, the list of finalists was published, and today, on December 28th, we are announcing the competition winners!
Surnames and names of the winners — here.
The winners will receive tablets, mobile phones, and smartwatches. The authors of the best teacher essays will receive external drives. Teachers who inspire the first-place winners will receive a Power Bank.
We will contact the winners and tell them how to receive their prizes. The Foundation is sincerely grateful to everyone who wrote an essay and shared their thoughts and dreams.
"Since the Competition was launched in 2021, the theme of the works has changed. Before Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the theme of the competition had a different interpretation. It was emphasised that war is not just one day, but tens and hundreds of different days, connected with local events and events in the country as a whole, which changed people's lives forever. In the works of 2023, the participants described how they see the Ukraine of the future, shared their stories about the war, and reflected on the strength of the Ukrainian people," said Yevhen Bazhenkov, Director of the Institute.
The essays received as part of the competition will become part of the Museum of Civilian Voices of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, the world's largest archive of stories of Ukrainian civilians about life during the war. The archive already contains more than 90,000 stories. The best works will be presented to the international community.
"The war has entered the heart of every Ukrainian, and the common misfortune has united us in opposing the enemy invasion. That is why it is important to hold this contest in an all-Ukrainian format. I am pleased to note that the geography of the contest is expanding every year, and the number of participants is growing. Holding such a competition is extremely important for fostering a sense of patriotism, spirituality, and unity in the younger generation. Therefore, such contests should develop and reach a wider audience," said Yevhen Bazhenkov.
