The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and Shakhtar FC supported Yeva from Ternopil, injured in a russian shelling

10.12.2025

Yeva Unolt, goalkeeper of the Ternopil Football Academy, was seriously injured after a missile strike on the city, which killed at least 36 people and injured more than 90. Yeva also lost her closest relatives.

To support her, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, together with Shakhtar football club, organized a meeting for her with goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov. The captain of the Ukrainian national team and Shakhtar FC visited Yeva in the hospital, giving her goalkeeper gloves, a jersey, and a gift from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation – a mobile phone to help her stay in touch with her team and friends.

Pyatov addressed Yeva with words of support, encouraged her not to give up, to keep fighting, and also promised to continue supporting her, inviting her to attend matches of the Ukrainian women’s national team once she recovers.

“Unfortunately, Ukrainian children live in terrible realities… I really wanted to support Yeva.  I hope it made her feel better morally.  I just needed to hug her – and I did. The meeting was very emotional.  We talked about many things, I invited Yeva to our trainings and other events, conveyed greetings from the team, and assured her that we will support her.  The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and we, the Shakhtar team, are ready to do everything for the sake of children,” said Andriy Pyatov.

Yeva was also offered psychological support from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation to help overcome the trauma and provide emotional support.

In the most difficult moments, care and support give the strength to keep living.  The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation makes such moments possible, helping children affected by the war to feel hope, faith in the future, and to pursue their dreams.
