Help that gives tomorrow: the "Rinat Akhmetov to Children" Program continues to care for young Ukrainians
The New Year Campaign by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation—a tradition of kindness that has lasted for 24 years—is coming to an end. Each year, the Foundation organizes celebrations for children from orphanages, family-type children’s homes, and displaced families across Ukraine, creating unforgettable memories and offering support to those who need it most.
This year, the pre-holiday festivities brought smiles to children’s faces at the "I am Mariupol" centers in Dnipro, Cherkasy, and Kyiv, as well as at the Udaytsi Educational and Rehabilitation Center for Children. The team also visited the home of Kateryna Tarusyna, a foster mother in the Kyiv region raising 10 children, and hosted events in many other locations. The Campaign culminated in a spectacular celebration in Kyiv, welcoming children from all corners of Ukraine.
In addition, the Foundation brought joy to children at "I am Mariupol" centers in 20 cities nationwide, including Zaporizhzhia.
Since its inception, more than 1.2 million children have participated in the Foundation’s holiday initiatives. These events do more than provide moments of joy—they inspire children to believe in themselves, explore their talents, and overcome challenges on their journey to success.
The New Year Campaign is part of the broader “Rinat Akhmetov to Children” program, which has helped over 5 million young Ukrainians through access to medical care, hearing aids, psychological and physical rehabilitation, and opportunities for personal development.
Supporting medical institutions is a cornerstone of the Foundation's work. For example, the Foundation has supplied modern equipment to the Ohmatdyt Children's Hospital, enabling over 4,000 children annually to receive accurate diagnoses and life-saving surgeries.
The Foundation actively supports youth in navigating their future through initiatives like the Telegram channel "Your Superpower" and the educational series "Your Super Profession." Meanwhile, the "Blogger Camp" project, part of the “Rinat Akhmetov to Children. Peaceful Recreation for Ukrainian Children” program, has provided nearly 5,000 children with psychological rehabilitation, skill-building opportunities, and much-needed respite.
The "No to Orphanhood!" project is a national leader in adoption advocacy, helping more than 11,000 children find loving families. Its mission is simple yet profound: to ensure every child has the chance to experience the love and support of a family.
In 2024, the Foundation launched an essay contest titled "1,000 Days of War: My Journey," which resonated deeply with participants. More than 4,000 heartfelt submissions were received. Winners were recognized with awards, and their stories became part of the the Museum of Civilian Voices by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation —a project dedicated to preserving the personal narratives of Ukrainians affected by war.
Through its wide-reaching programs, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation strives to create a nurturing environment where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to dream big.
