Help on the contact line: residents of Netailovo received aid from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation

21.03.2024

Netailovo is just under 12 km from the Donetsk airport runway. And just 3 km away, the fighting is already underway. Several dozen people still live in Netailovo, which has been shattered to pieces. They hardly ever leave their basements because of the terrible shelling. The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has provided them with food parcels.

"Thank you. We can't survive here without help," said a local resident.

"We are very grateful that you have brought humanitarian aid to us. It makes our hearts feel warmer. We really hope that there will be peace here," said another woman.

People stand in a chain to unload the boxes of food parcels as quickly as possible. Every minute is worth its weight in gold, as the Russian military often shoot at the places where the humanitarian aid is distributed and where there are many civilians. But despite the risks, the Rinat Akhmetov's Foundation will continue to deliver the aid to the places where people need it, says volunteer Mykola Osychenko, the Foundation's ambassador and head of Mariupol TV.

Since 2014, the Foundation has provided 13 million food parcels to the people of Ukraine. Over this time, more than 18 million people have benefited from the assistance provided by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, SCM businesses and Shakhtar Football Club.

The assistance is provided under the Rinat Akhmetov Saving Lives programme.
