On the occasion of World Hearing Day: how Rinat Akhmetov Foundation helps Ukrainian children hear the world

Today is World Hearing Day. According to WHO, more than 1.5 billion people worldwide have hearing problems of varying severity. Rinat Akhmetov Foundation supports children by helping them to restore their ability to hear and develop.
Thanks to the Foundation, more than 240 boys and girls have already received modern, highly sensitive hearing aids that are adjusted to the individual needs of each child as part of the Now I Can Hear project. Among them is 6-year-old Diana. She has also recently received hearing aids from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. For the first time in her life, the girl heard high frequencies – sounds that were previously inaccessible to her. Now she can communicate with her peers and, most importantly, prepare for the first grade.
“I am very grateful to the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation for helping such children. I think these amounts are very significant for any average family. She has already started to speak better with the device”, says Hanna, Diana’s mother. You can read the girl’s story here: https://akhmetovfoundation.org/s/fc3459
Lolita, a 4-year-old from Kryvyi Rih, also received hearing aids from Rinat Akhmetov Foundation to help her hear the world around her, learn, develop her speech and communicate with her peers. Now she will start a new stage in her life – lessons with a speech therapist and a defectologist to learn to hear and pronounce new sounds. But most importantly, Lolita will finally be able to fulfil her dream of dancing and hearing music.
“My daughter is a very active child. We couldn’t take her dancing before because she wouldn’t hear the teacher. And now... she is dancing”, says Ihor, Lolita’s father. You can read her story here: https://bit.ly/40yUWIA
Rinat Akhmetov to Children. Now I Can Hear project provides assistance with hearing aids to children with hearing impairments under the age of 7 who live or have lived in territorial communities in the areas of hostilities, occupation or encirclement.
In total, 5 million children received comprehensive support under the “Rinat Akhmetov to Children” programme. “Rinat Akhmetov to Children. Help that gives tomorrow!”
