Children Lack Joy”: In Dnipro, Displaced Children from Donetsk Region Received New Year Greetings from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation
The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation continues to support children. Recently, more than 160 displaced children from Donetsk Region — including those from the Soledar and Pokrovsk communities — who are now living in Dnipro, received New Year greetings. The event took place as part of the traditional New Year Campaign of the “Rinat Akhmetov – For Children!” program.
“For 25 years, on the eve of the New Year, we have been congratulating children. I am very glad that we were able to give them this day. It is a pleasure for me to see smiles on their faces,” noted Iryna Blazhan, Project and Program Chief Director of the Foundation.
Tragic events deprived children from Donetsk Region of a happy childhood. The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation created a true New Year firework of emotions and smiles for the boys and girls.
“Children lack joy, and we are very grateful that we are not forgotten and that our children are cared for. I sincerely thank the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation for giving children happiness,” shared Tetiana, mother of the event’s participants.
The children were delighted by the contests, games with animators, and cheerful entertainment that restored their sense of carefree childhood and true wonder.
“I liked the party and how we danced. It was fun with Kotyhoroshko and the Elves,” says 7-year-old Veronika, a participant in the event.
“I came here in a very cheerful mood. I really like New Year concerts,” says 9-year-old Liza, a participant in the event.
“Such events are very important to me, because it is nice when people try to do something interesting and fun for us,” adds 15-year-old Kira, a participant in the event.
“We are very happy that we were able to distract ourselves from today’s realities and feel pleasant emotions. We thank Rinat Akhmetov for the opportunity to feel happy. I am very happy to see my child joyful: she is dancing, singing, and in a good and uplifted mood,” says Anna, mother of one of the participants.
A concert for the children was also arranged by the singer Mykyta Alekseev. He noted that such moments of joy can become a source of strength and support for children.
“Right now, we must do everything possible to ensure that children receive these moments of happiness — if not every day, then as often as possible. These are the memories that stay with them for a lifetime,” the singer emphasized.
The “Rinat Akhmetov – For Children!” program implements projects that comprehensively support boys and girls whose childhood was taken away due to russian aggression. Through the program, children undergo psychological and physical rehabilitation and are also able to develop and pursue their dreams. Over the course of its work, the Foundation’s assistance has reached more than 6 million children.
The New Year Campaign is part of the large-scale “Rinat Akhmetov – For Children!” program — a tradition that has continued uninterrupted for 25 years. The Foundation’s team organizes New Year greetings for children from vulnerable categories, as well as for those affected by the consequences of russia’s war against Ukraine.
