Angel and balloons: the «No to Orphanhood!» program announced the names of the winners of the «Congratulate your mother!» contest

On the Mother's Day eve, which Ukraine celebrates on the second Sunday of May, the "No to Orphanhood!" program of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation held a children's drawing competition "Congratulate your mother!". Its young participants were able to publish their works, words of gratitude and congratulations to moms on the program's page on

According to the terms of the contest, one of the winners was the participant with the highest number of votes. This is a 6-year-old Andriy from Kyiv. His picture shows a happy family: mom, dad and a little boy with colorful balloons.

Another winner was chosen by the jury, which included representatives of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. This is a 13-year-old Lyudmyla, who is raised up in a family-type orphanage. The girl painted her mother as an angel who protects her children with wings and gives each of them her heart and love.

In the days coming, Andriy and Lyudmyla will receive gifts that the children can present to their mothers for the holiday. These are beautiful portable chargers. As for the winners, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has prepared wonderful painting sets.

The "Congratulate your mother!" contest is another way to remind the society about the problems of orphanhood in Ukraine, to which the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation pays close attention",  - Natalya Baryshpolskaya, a program leader of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, said. "This contest gave children the opportunity to express their love for the dearest people in the world, which are their mothers. All works are filled with warmth, light and positive. And they all illustrate how important it is for every child to be brought up in a family and have a loving mother. We are very grateful to all children who took part in the contest. And we really want every child to grow up in a family. This is the purpose, for which the "No to Orphanhood!" program works.

Thanks to the program of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, more than 9 thousand children have found their new families. Now the profiles of over five thousand boys and girls who dream of being needed and loved are published on the "No to Orphanhood!" program portal. And one day they will have the opportunity to congratulate the dearest and most beloved mother.
