The Campaign Rinat Akhmetov for Children: Giving Faith in a Happy and Cloudless Future

In early December, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation traditionally was the first in the country to launch a spree of New Year’s greetings, pleasant surprises and gifts for children. The largest and uninterrupted tradition of kindness has been going on in Ukraine for more than two decades. Every year, the Campaign Rinat Akhmetov for Children brings something unique and completely new to its participants, while maintaining its main goal and philosophy – to give warmth and care to children. 

‘Help to those in need cannot be postponed until later. We were so much taught that children are our future that we really believed in it. But this is not so. Children are our present, and we are the ones responsible for the future, for their future,’ said the founder of the Campaign and the Founder of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.

This year, as part of the Campaign, gifts from the best-known philanthropist of Ukraine went to more than 100,000 girls and boys who are inmates of boarding schools, family-type orphanages, as well as small and young participants of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation’s programs and projects.

‘The focus of the Campaign Rinat Akhmetov for Children is on the children deprived of parental warmth. It is very important to help them discover their talents and give them confidence that they can achieve their goals and change the world for the better,’ said Iryna Blazhan, Project and Program Chief Director of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.

Among those who shared the New Year’s atmosphere together with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation this year were the children from the family-type orphanage of the Savin family from Mariupol. They not only visited a real New Year’s ball, but also received pleasant surprises from the Foundation.

‘We are very thankful to the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation for such holidays, gifts and, of course, its involvement and commitment to the fate of orphaned children,’ said mother-carer Tetiana Savina.

Children from the close-knit Sydorenko family also received some positive emotions and modern gadgets. 

‘Every year we attend all the New Year events held by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. The kids receive not only warm memories and impressions, but also some desirable gifts, especially this year. I did not even expect it that the kids can be tiktokers. You are great, the gifts are just to the point!’ said Natalya Sydorenko. 

The children who became participants of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation’s programs and projects were not left out either. Among them is Sofiya Nilova from Rubizhne town in Luhansk region. Four years ago, within the framework of the project Rinat Akhmetov for Children. Healthy Heart, the Foundation gave little Sofiya a miracle, and now the girl enjoys the surprises.

‘It is a memory for life. Surely, I want to wish prosperity both to Rinat Akhmetov and to the Foundation. Thank you for not forgetting about all the children,’ expressed her gratitude the girl’s mother Olena Nilova.

The Campaign Rinat Akhmetov for Children is a tradition of kindness and personal participation of Rinat Akhmetov in the lives of children. Over the past 14 years, nearly 1 million children received gifts from Rinat Akhmetov. The Campaign gives its participants the belief that they will definitely be able to achieve their goals.
