This year’s New Year’s Rinat Akhmetov to Children campaign once again brought warmth and support to thousands of young Ukrainians. The Foundation team organized bright holidays for children from boarding schools, family-type orphanages, and displaced children in various cities of Ukraine. The final event of the campaign was a large-scale celebration in Kyiv, which brought together children from different parts of the country.
Special attention was paid to the Udaitsivka Educational and Rehabilitation Centre for children and young displaced persons from Mariupol in Dnipro and Cherkasy. We also welcomed the children from the Kateryna Tarusina family-type orphanage. Children staying at YaMariupol centres in 20 cities of Ukraine, as well as at the Green Centre in Zaporizhzhia, also received congratulations and gifts.
For 24 years, the campaign has remained a symbol of kindness and care. During this time, more than 1.2 million boys and girls received New Year and Christmas greetings and gifts.
A bright highlight this year was the awarding of the winners of the essay competition “1000 Days of War. My Path”, organized among schoolchildren and teachers of Ukraine. In their essays, the participants talked about the pain of war and loss, but also about faith in victory and the future. The best works were included in the collection of the Museum of Civilian Voices founded by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. The winners received diplomas and valuable gifts during a festive event in Kyiv.
At the celebration, children talked about how the Foundation’s programs had changed their lives. Someone found new opportunities at Blogger Camp, someone received treatment and psychological help, and someone discovered their writing talent thanks to the competition. But they all had one common dream - peace and victory.
“I hope the war will end and we will enjoy life. There will be a victory, and we will definitely celebrate it”, said 10-year-old Ihor from Sloviansk.
Assistance is not limited to the winter holidays. The New Year’s campaign is part of the large-scale Rinat Akhmetov to Children program.
Owing to the program, young Ukrainians receive treatment, hearing aids, undergo psychological and physical rehabilitation, and can also develop and realize their dreams. During its operation, the Foundation’s assistance has reached more than 5 million children. Rinat Akhmetov to Children. Help that gives tomorrow. https://akhmetovfoundation.org/news
