480,000 survival kits are issued to children, elderly and disabled people by Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center in March.

02.04.2015

In March 2015 Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center issued 480,000 survival kits for children, elderly and disabled people, and other categories of benefit-entitled Donbas civilians and IDPs from ATO area, residing at government-controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. This number includes 33,619 children from 0 to 2 years old, who were provided with baby food.

"In March the Humanitarian Center's volunteers issued 480,000 of survival kits for people. We understand that this aid is saving people's lives now. In Donetsk and other towns in NGCA the situation with food is catastrophic. The product range gets more and more narrow. And this situation is worsened by lack of social payments in Donbas. We calculated that every hour over 2,000 people get humanitarian aid from Rinat Akhmetov in Donetsk, and the issuing points work five hours a day, five days a week. These numbers show the large-scale aid from Rinat Akhmetov again. As well as the scale of catastrophe. That is why Humanitarian Center has big plans for April, we will continue delivering and issuing humanitarian aid to the population" - Rimma Fil, Coordinator of Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center, commented.

The aid from the Humanitarian Center is provided for peaceful residents only, as well as during the last 9 months: from the logistic centre in Donetsk and through the issuing points these packages are distributed to the most vulnerable categories of population in the ATO area; from Mariupol warehouse the packages are distributed to benefit-entitled IDPs, temporarily residing in the peaceful areas of Donbas.

It bears reminding that starting from August, 2014, Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center issued over 2.4 mln survival kits for Donbas civilians and IDPs from ATO area, residing at government-controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
