"Thanks to the medicine, I will be able to walk": Rinat Akhmetov Foundation helped treat a seriously injured miner from Toretsk
Vitaliy Sydorov, a miner from Toretsk, was returning home from a night shift. On the way, he was caught in the middle of a rocket attack and was seriously injured. Rinat Akhmetov Foundation helped Vitaliy by providing funding for the medicine he needed to walk again.
"I need to recover, there is no other choice. I can't step on my foot yet, but I hope for the best. The doctor said he doesn't know if I will be able to dance, but I will definitely walk. Thank you very much for your help," says Vitaliy.
After the explosion, a passer-by gave him a rubber rope, which worked like a turnstile. Vitaliy was taken to hospital by volunteers. The man has undergone 7 surgeries and complications.
"I found information about the Foundation on the Internet. We are very grateful for the help, because we could not have done it on our own. Now my son is on the mend, so I believe that everything will be fine, the worst is over,’ said Galyna, Vitaliy's mother.
As part of the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Wounded Adults programme, Rinat Akhmetov Foundation provides assistance to Ukrainians affected by hostile shelling, including treatment, rehabilitation and psychological help.
