"It is important to help children for the sake of the future": Maryna, a 10-year-old wounded girl from Mykolaiv region, undergoes rehabilitation course from Rinat Akhmetov Foundation
In August 2022, Maryna sustained severe explosive injuries as a result of a rocket attack on her native Voznesensk, Mykolaiv region. All this time, the child has been treated for the consequences of that terrible explosion. Recently, the 10-year-old girl completed a course of physical rehabilitation and psychological recovery at a health resort in the Transcarpathian region provided by Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.
"I believe that the Foundation's assistance is invaluable. Our children are our future. If we help them now, their adult life will be much better. They will be able to live happy and healthy lives despite all the horrors they have experienced," said Anastasiia, the girl's mother.
Maryna also shared her memories and how her rehabilitation is going.
"In the health resort, I like the swimming pool, the salt room, and I really like horses. I am being treated, enjoying nature and relaxing. In our Voznesensk, there is always a lot of noise, but here it is calm. I dream that our city will become beautiful, and without war," says the girl.
According to Snizhana Chebotarova, a doctor at the health resort, many people have undergone psychological rehabilitation and treatment provided by the Foundation since the beginning of the Russian aggression. She told us more about Maryna's condition.
"The mother and child notice a significant improvement, primarily in the child's psychological state - Maryna is working with a psychologist. There are also very good medical results. Thanks to Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, they have the opportunity to come and get better, and I think it is very beneficial for the child," the doctor said.
As part of Rinat Akhmetov to Children. Treatment and Rehabilitation of Injured Children programme, the Foundation provides assistance to children affected by hostile shelling of residential areas: treatment, rehabilitation, psychological help, etc.
