"This Aid is Like a Safety Bag": Families with Children of Frontline Sloviansk Receive Food Packages from Rinat Akhmetov Foundation
Despite the brutal massive attacks, there are more and more children in Sloviansk: people are evacuating to the city from the towns in Donetsk region where the fighting is ongoing. Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has delivered two thousand food packages to families with children living in Sloviansk. The distribution of the aid is complete.
"It's important for people to be supported in difficult times This aid is a safety bag for many people," says Eleonora, the head of the distribution point in Sloviansk.
"This is a very big support. We bake our own bread, cookies and rolls for the children — flour always helps us out. We also need cereals. We can cook it right away," says Tetiana, a mother of three.
According to Mykola Osychenko, the Foundation's ambassador and head of Mariupol Television channel, life in Donetsk region is tense and dangerous, and Rinat Akhmetov Foundation will continue to support those in need.
Since the start of the full-scale war, the Foundation has sent 380,000 food packages to residents of Donetsk region and those who have temporarily evacuated from the region.
Since 2014, the Foundation has donated 13 million food packages to Ukrainians. The aid is provided under Saving Lives programme of Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.
