"Thank you for helping people": families with children in frontline Yarova receive food packages from Rinat Akhmetov Foundation
The village of Yarova, near Lyman, Donetsk region, has been under occupation since the beginning of the invasion and recently suffered a fire in a forest mined by the Russian army. The fire damaged many houses. Families with children living in the village received food packages from Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.
"Thank you for helping people. Children are growing up and we always need something," Tetiana, a resident of Yarova who is expecting her seventh child, said.
There are many internally displaced people living in Yarova, both those who arrived after 2014 and those who have recently left their homes.
"We came here in 2015 and even then we received help from Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. This is what we really need, a lot of support," Iryna, an IDP from Horlivka, said.
"We have brought the aid to the children because this is their home and Donbas is our homeland. And Rinat Akhmetov Foundation will continue to deliver the aid to Ukrainians where they need it," Mykola Osychenko, the Foundation's ambassador and head of Mariupol TV, said.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the Foundation has sent more than 380,000 food packages to residents of Donetsk region and those who have temporarily evacuated from the region.
Since 2014, the Foundation has provided 13 million food packages to Ukrainians. The assistance is provided under Rinat Akhmetov Saving Lives programme.
