30.11.2016

The Humanitarian Center changes the content of food packages. More than 560,000 retired and disabled people, families with many children, single parents and families with babies from 200 Donbas settlements will receive the renewed packages during the New-Year holiday period. This was announced in the course of press briefing at "Ukrainski Novyny" information agency by Rimma Fil, the Humanitarian Center's Coordinator.

"Traditionally, on the threshold of New Year, Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center renews the content of food packages, so that people, who found themselves in severe conditions of the conflict zone, sensed the holiday.  Based on the results of survey, conducted among humanitarian aid recipients, a package for adults will also have canned peas and corn as the most demanded products. Besides, all the kits will have gift boxes with candies", – the Center's Coordinator, Rimma Fil, shared.

In early December the Humanitarian Center's logistic warehouses will have all the necessary products delivered. Distribution of New-Year packages starts on December 8. Residents of Donetsk will be the first to receive the packages in non-government-controlled areas of Donbas. The first to receive them in government-controlled areas will be residents of Krasnohorivka and Schastia. Remote villages and "grey zone" will have their packages delivered by the Center's mobile teams of volunteers. During December and January, the New-Year packages will be issued just once to aid recipients of the Humanitarian Center.

The first convoy with New-Year humanitarian aid will be dispatched from Dnipro to Donetsk on December 1. It is planned to send 10 convoys consisting of 178 trucks to Donbas in December 2016.

Till the end of December mobile teams of volunteers will cover 89 settlements, both on the contact line and in remote districts of non-government-controlled areas. There are trips planned to Zhovanka, Mayorsk, Novomykhailivka, Zaitseve and Novotroitske. More than 11,000 pensioners, disabled people and families with children under 35 months old will get the special packages for the New Year.

"The Center keeps on working. It is important for Rinat Akhmetov to make sure that each vulnerable person is provided with assistance during the war time. We hope that our attention will help to bring at least some New Year atmosphere to every home in Donbas", – Rimma Fil said.

Information. As of November 30, 2016, Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center issued 10,648,000 adult and children survival kits in Donbas on both sides of the contact line.
