Rinat Akhmetov receives a personal award from the Ombudsman

03.07.2026

At the initiative of Dmytro Lubinets, the For the Protection of Human Rights award was established, and its first ten recipients have already been honoured. Among them are the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada, the Norwegian Refugee Council, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine, and four Ukrainian business leaders, including Rinat Akhmetov.

"It is a great honour for us to receive this award. Rinat Akhmetov's ecosystem has been a reliable partner of the Office of the Ukrainian Ombudsman for the past four years because people and their rights are at the heart of our business philosophy. This partnership enables us to develop systemic solutions that help people restore their rights, return to a full life and build their future," said Nataliia Yemchenko, Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and Azovstal Heart NGO.

The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and the Azovstal Heart NGO have long been implementing joint initiatives with the Office of the Ukrainian Ombudsman. Their cooperation includes supporting the defenders of Mariupol, protecting the rights of prisoners of war and veterans, the Museum of Civilian Voices founded by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, the Kateryna Savenko's Diary project, as well as programmes for young people returning from temporarily occupied territories and after deportation.
