A Year of the War That Lasts Nine Years: How the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation Has Been Helping Ukrainians Since 2014

One year has passed since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion and nine years since Ukraine started to courageously defend its freedom and independence. Since the first days of the war, which began in 2014, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has been supporting people, who found themselves in difficult life circumstances. The Foundation has been providing them with food and medicines, helping in treatment and rehabilitation, as well as supporting psychologically.

On the anniversary of the full-scale invasion of russian troops into the territory of our state, the Foundation scored up the results of assistance it provided in the period from 2014 to 24 February 2023.

Overall, during this period, the Foundation provided the following for the needs of the Ukrainian citizens:

— almost 13 million food assistance packages

— about 800,000 units of medicines for healthcare institutions and citizens

— about 90,000 hygiene kits

— 1,000 heaters for places of temporary accommodation of internally displaced persons.

In addition, during the above period:

— more than 64,000 people received psychological support from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation

— 47,000 people were evacuated and resettled

— 11,000 people received targeted assistance for medical treatment

— about 4,700 children rested in the children’s camp within the framework of the project Rinat Akhmetov for Children. Peaceful Summer for Children of Ukraine

— 134 rehabilitation courses were delivered to children injured due to the military hostilities in Ukraine.

Notably, the collection of the Museum of Civilian Voices of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation received more than 60,000 stories during this period. This is the world’s largest archive of stories from Ukrainian civilians who suffered from the war.

The assistance is provided in the framework of the program Rinat Akhmetov — Saving Lives.
