21.12.2007
Within the framework of its national special projects SCM's Corporate Foundation for Development of Ukraine has held the Contest "Creating National Anti-TB Center for Psychological and Social Rehabilitation of Children that Completed TB Treatment Course".
The Project is being carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine.
The project goal is to select on a competitive basis a health recreation facility, which is under the supervision of the Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine and to create the Center for rehabilitation of children with TB.
The Contest Provisions and the invitation for contest participation were sent directly to 11 health recreation facilities supervised by the Ministry of Healthcare. The Foundation also placed an announcement on the Contest at the website of the Foundation and in mass media.
The Foundation got applications from 2 health centers: Children's Special Health Center "Zatoka" and Children's Anti-TB Center "Moscow".
The applications were considered and assessed by the Contest Committee, which included:
- V.B. Pedan, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine
- M.V. Sakaly, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine
- O.I. Bilogortseva, Yanovskyy National Institute of Phthisiology and Pulmonology
- O.Rudnyeva, Anti Aids Foundation of Olena Franchuk
- T. Tkachuk , Ukraine 3000 International Foundation
- O. Sakovych, UNO Children Fund (UNISEF)
- T. Bilyk, Foundation for Development of Ukraine
It's worth noting that both applications were well presented. It's pleasant to note that the teams of both health centers approached the contest seriously and prepared the concept on implementation of rehabilitation programs and methods for the newly created centre.
Each member of the Committee assessed the applications (the Committee included 2 representatives of the Ministry of Healthcare whose recommendations were put into the assessment forms of each health centre). Tetyana Bilyk, a member of the Committee and the National Manager of the Foundation, summarized the assessment results. After that the Commission held a meeting to discuss the contest results.
4 members of the Commission recommended "Moscow" Health Centre as the contest winner and 2 members supported "Zatoka" Health Centre. Most scores were given to "Moscow" Health Centre.
Thus, Children's Anti-TB Center "Moscow" became the winner of the Contest "Creating National Anti-TB Center for Psychological and Social Rehabilitation of Children that Completed TB Treatment Course". And we would like to express our congratulations to the Winner.
In January the Ministry of Healthcare and "Moscow" Health Center will sign agreements for cooperation in creation of the centre for rehabilitation of TB infected children.
The centre was renamed following the recommendation of the Commission members in order to reflect the area of activity of the centre. The centre will be called "Ukrainian Centre of Medical and Psychological and Social Rehabilitation of TB infected Children".
The Foundation for Development of Ukraine is very thankful to the partners who worked in the Committee and helped identify the contest winner and provided recommendations on further realization of the project.
The Foundation for Development of Ukraine is thankful to Zatoka Health Centre for participation in the contest and for wonderful contest application.
