Mayor of Brussels visits the VOICES exhibition of the Museum of Civilian Voices by Rinat Akhmetov Foundation in Kyiv

Philippe Close - Mayor of Brussels, the capital of Belgium and the administrative center of the European Union - visited Kyiv. During the visit, Mr. Close attended the VOICES exhibition, which opened the multimedia space of the Museum of Civilian Voices by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.

Philippe Close got acquainted with the exhibition, which aims to show the depth and power of human stories and reflect on the events of the war. The Mayor of Brussels talked to Andrii Palatnyi, line curator of the exhibition, and Diana Popova, Director General of the Museum of the History of the City of Kyiv, which hosts the exhibition.

“The Europeans emphasize that it is through the culture that the country's recovery and restoration after our victory is possible, which they have no doubt about,” said Diana Popova, commenting on the politician's visit to the Museum.

This is the third trip of Mr. Close and his team to the Ukrainian capital during the full-scale invasion to deliver European aid. In 2022, Philippe Close emphasized that the Belgians would support and help Ukrainians in their heroic struggle for statehood and freedom.

The multimedia space of the Museum of Civilian Voices by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation presents a part of the Museum's 100,000 collection, which is the world's largest archive of Ukrainians' first-hand stories about the war in the country. The VOICES exhibition is curated by Andriy Palatnyi and the author of the concept is Vladyslav Troitskyi.

The exhibition is available for free at the Museum of the History of the City of Kyiv until the end of May at the following address: 7 Bohdana Khmelnytskoho Street, Kyiv.
