24.11.2020

The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and Metinvest transferred a high-end ventilator to Petrove Central District Hospital in Kirovohrad Region. Kirovohrad regional hospital has received another modern ventilator.

"The Foundation created the project Fighting COVID-19 in Ukraine, which became part of the program Rinat Akhmetov – Saving Lives. This is the unique project that has no analogues in the country. This is the largest, most systematic and large-scale private initiative aimed at helping state medical institutions in the fight against coronavirus. Over 200,000 units of personal protective equipment, as well as 337,000 rapid tests, were transferred to medical professionals. The purchase of more than 200 cutting-edge ventilators for public hospitals has become crucial to assist the country in this fight. Over 180 high-end ventilators from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation have already been delivered to the main state hospitals in 17 regions of the country,"  Natalya Yemchenko, member of the Supervisory Board of the Foundation, said.

Metinwest representative Dmytro Murashko noted that the equipment were delivered by the Foundation to both large clinics in regional centers and small regional hospitals in Ukraine, making modern European medicine accessible to everyone.

"The ventilators that the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation purchased for Ukrainian doctors are high-end intensive care equipment that is difficult to buy as it is required in every country of the world due to the pandemic. The ventilators are automatically controlled, and they largely eliminate human error. They do not require complex setup and can be used immediately. This is very important during the epidemic. Such devices will even be relevant years from now since they help those who are seriously ill and save the lives of people throughout Ukraine.

Head of Kirovohrad Regional State Administration Andrii Nazarenko thanked for the help.

"The assistance rendered by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation is extremely important. Ventilators are expensive equipment. The region really lacks them. Therefore, this is a very good support of people and authorities, for which I am very grateful," Andrii Nazarenko said.

According to the head of the Petrove Village Council, Svitlana Tylyk, today is a special day for the residents of the district.

"This is a very important day, because we have received the much-needed ventilators. This is a very high-quality equipment that will save more than one life. We feel Rinat Akhmetov's support. He helped us repair the departments of the central district hospital. Now our patients are privileged to stay these European-level comfortable facilities. We are very grateful," Svitlana Tylyk said.

Doctors also shared the leadership' opinion.

"This is the first time we have such a high-end device. It is made in France, and I am sure that it will save more than one life. Thank you!" Oksana Apostolova, Acting Chief Physician of the Petrove Central District Hospital expressed her gratitude.
