The Humanitarian Center put a 5-year-old child on his legs. How to apply for help?

15.08.2017

For the fourth year in a row, the Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center has been rendering help to the adults and children who are in a very tough life situation and need support. Within the framework of the program ‘Targeted Aid’, the Humanitarian Center assists with drugs, provides for urgent treatment, performs surgeries, and organizes rehabilitation of wounded children in the best sanatoria of Ukraine.

One of the brightest examples of such assistance is a story of the Primak family from Sverdlovsk (Lugansk region). The family suffered wounds due to shell explosion. A five-year-old Cyril was worst-hit. The boy had to undergo several severe skin grafts. For full recovery, the child needed to attend a rehabilitation course, and the Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center came to Cyril’s aid.

‘Cyril’s leg did not heal. It was severely festering, Lyudmila Primak, Cyril's mother, recalls. We visited web-site of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, wrote a letter asking for rehabilitation of the child, and a week later they helped us - provided health resort voucher.’

Now a 5-year-old boy makes a good recovery, walks by himself and tries to forget those terrible events as soon as possible. Family and friends help him to cope with this problem.

‘During the military operations in Donbass, the Humanitarian Center provided support to 76 wounded children among them 68 children underwent treatment in the rehabilitation centers in Ukraine and 7 more children received technical means of rehabilitation and drugs. Assistance to sick and wounded children, the number of which, unfortunately, grows, still remains one of our priorities,’ Igor Khadzhinov, head of ‘Targeted Aid’ section of the Humanitarian Center, said.

The request for targeted medical aid can be left on the hotline of the Humanitarian Center (phone: 0800 509 001) or sent to the e-mail [email protected].
