The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation in Zaporizhzhya Continues to Provide Support and Humanitarian Aid to Mariupol Residents Who Left the Sieged City

18.03.2022

Today, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation handed over more than 700 food assistance packages meant for Mariupol residents who managed to leave the city and relocate to Zaporizhzhya. One of the volunteers, Liudmyla, gives her comment about the humanitarian aid from the Foundation.

‘IDPs from Mariupol come to us, to Zaporizhzhya, for further relocation. They can stay here overnight or just have some rest, take a shower and get the food assistance packages from the Foundation. With their eyes welled up with tears, they express gratitude for the comfort and support the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation provides to them. Even though people are frightened by the horror of the war, they are pretty well organized.’

In addition, in the near future, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation will open psychological support hubs for evacuees from Mariupol. People will be receiving support from highly skilled psychologists and experts in crisis psychology and traumatic experiences.

The assistance is provided in the framework of the program Rinat Akhmetov – Saving Lives. During 16 years of its operation, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation helped eight million people survive, three and a half million of them were saved in Donbass.
