The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation transferred a ventilator for the doctors of Volyn Oblast
Volodymyr-Volynskyi Territorial Medical Association received a modern high-end ventilator from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.
"Fighting COVID-19 in Ukraine became part of the Foundation's program Rinat Akhmetov – Saving Lives." This is the largest, most systematic and large-scale private initiative aimed at helping state medical institutions in the fight against coronavirus. This Foundation's project made it possible for the country's public hospitals to receive over 200,000 units of personal protective equipment and 337,000 rapid tests. The purchase of more than 200 cutting-edge ventilators for public hospitals has become crucial to assist the country in this fight. Over 190 high-quality ventilators from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation were delivered to the main hospitals in 22 regions of the country. Such devices will even be relevant and necessary to help those who are seriously ill and to save the lives of people throughout Ukraine years from now," Natalya Yemchenko, member of the Supervisory Board of the Foundation, said.
Chairman of Volyn Regional State Administration noted the importance of such assistance for doctors.
"Thank you from the whole region for this wonderful device. This is not the first time Rinat Leonidovich has helped Volyn Oblast. Last year we received nine new ambulances from Foundation," Yurii Pohuliaiko said.
According to the regional authorities, the number of COVID-19 cases continues to grow. Thus, the support for doctors is still extremely necessary.
"I would like to thank the Foundation and Rinat Leonidovich for helping the region. The ventilators are required by regional hospitals. We would like to express our gratitude for the support receivethat even remote areas," Liudmyla Tymoshchuk, Acting Head of the Health Department of Volyn Regional State Administration, said.
According to Director of the medical association, Tetyana Vashchuk the gift received from the Foundation impressed the doctors with its options:
"I am so grateful both on behalf of the team and the entire community. This is an extremely necessary high-end ventilator for today. It will help us treat severe COVID-19 pneumonia. I am very glad that such equipment was brought to our hospital.”
Along with the ventilator, the doctors of the intensive care unit received individual sets of medical clothing from the Foundation. In addition, the Foundation previously transferred an oxygen concentrator for ventilators to Volyn Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital.
Fighting COVID-19 in Ukraine is a large-scale project of the Foundation created to help save people's lives. It is implemented under the program Rinat Akhmetov – Saving Lives. Earlier, Rinat Akhmetov launched 200 Ambulances for Ukraine, which was was implemented as part of this program. Back then, all regional state medical institutions received 200 special vehicles with state-of-the-art military equipment that can get over off-road conditions within the record time of six months. Moreover, 22 vehicles equiped with ventilators`for newborns were also delivered. This is the largest contribution made by one philanthropist to the state medicine of Ukraine since our country became independent. These days, many of these ambulances are involved in the fight against the coronavirus epidemic.
