The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation helped a six-year-old Stas discover the world of sounds
Six-year-old Stas from Kharkiv has many talents. He knows how to do the splits, tumble, and even stand on his head. Parents even sent their son to a circus art club! Stas also knows how to feel people and see through them.
"If he sees any bad intentions, he walks away. He understands people very well, despite the fact that he cannot hear," the boy's mother, Liudmyla Lukiaschenko, said.
Stas has hearing loss. Although he was born healthy and even managed to utter his first words, he suddenly stopped talking. Doctors found that the child could hear very poorly, so his speech did not progress. The boys started school this year. The situation has worsened.
"Stas needs to install two hearing aids to study well. This way they will be able to fully receive information, communicate with their peers, and listen to teachers," Hearing Prosthetist Viktoriia Smirnova says.
The Lukiashchenkos could not buy expensive hearing aids on their own. So they turned to the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation for help. Stasik became a member of the project Rinat Akhmetov for Children. I Can Hear Now. Recently, he rediscovered the world of sounds.
"Stas still has a lot of work to do, but we will manage. Our biggest dream to be finally able to talk to our son has finally come true. The Foundation will help us do it," Maksym Lukiaschenko, the child's father said.
Thanks to the project Rinat Akhmetov for Children. I Can Hear Now, high-sensitivity hearing aids and the ability to keep up with your peers were delivered to almost 190 children, including Stas.
