Aid From Rinat Akhmetov Reached More Than 13.5 Million Ukrainians

21.09.2022

Aid from Rinat Akhmetov has reached more than 13.5 million residents of Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war. In particular, the areas of assistance during this period included the following:

—    businesses of SCM Group belonging to Rinat Akhmetov have restored access to electricity and communications for almost 10 million people
—    humanitarian aid from Rinat Akhmetov helped more than 3.5 million people survive.

In addition, given the duration of the war and the growing need for the humanitarian support, in particular in the de-occupied territories, Rinat Akhmetov has made another unprecedented decision to scale up the volume of his food assistance. In total, half a million food assistance packages will be provided to the residents of Ukraine.

Joining efforts now enables us to help millions of people thus making us the largest private humanitarian initiative.

The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has already provided more than 660,000 units of medicines and more than 60,000 blood transfusion bags (hemocontainers) for residents of Ukraine. The most vulnerable categories of citizens constantly receive food assistance packages and hygiene items from the Foundation.

Overall, since the beginning of the full-scale war, SCM businesses, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and Shakhtar Football Club have provided assistance to Ukraine and Ukrainians worth UAH 3 billion or USD 100 million.

It should be added that the Foundation, in partnership with I AM MARIUPOL centres, continues to provide support to IDPs from the “City of Mary” on a systematic basis.

The Foundation also collects stories for the Museum of Civilian Voices, the world’s largest archive of stories from Ukrainian civilians affected by the war. The Museum’s archive already has more than 35,000 stories.

The assistance is provided in the framework of the program Rinat Akhmetov – Saving Lives.
