“Help gives life”: Residents of frontline Druzhkivka receive food packages from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation

The situation in Druzhkivka is tense, but despite the high risk, many people remain here. The city also hosts internally displaced people from other settlements in Donetsk region. The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has delivered the aid to the city. The deliveries are now complete.
“Recently, more and more people from Pokrovskyi district and Kostiantynivka have been applying for help, and before that there were many people from Chasovyi Yar and Bakhmut. Humanitarian aid is an integral part of our reality. It gives life to many people,” says Andrii, Head of the Humanitarian Centre of Druzhkivka.
So far, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has sent 2,000 food sets to the city. Each box is compact but contains all the essentials.
“It contains oil, flour and sugar – just enough to make pancakes or bake bread, and it’s easier,” says Halyna, a resident of Druzhkivka.
According to Svitlana, an IDP from Soledar, many people in Druzhkivka need help.
“We rent an apartment. Even in our house, there are many people who are left completely alone. Whenever possible, I try to help elderly people myself as much as I can,” the woman admits.
In total, the Foundation has provided nearly 13.5 million food parcels to Ukrainians. The aid is provided under the Rinat Akhmetov Saving Lives programme.
