Internally Displaced Children From Donetsk Region Attended the New Year Event From the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation in Kyiv

09.12.2023

The New Year Campaign Rinat Akhmetov for Children continues. For more than twenty years, this tradition of kindness and help has reached more than a million Ukrainian children. Just a few days ago, the team of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation visited Donechchyna cultural hub in Kyiv. There, the Foundation passed its New Year and Christmas greetings to children from Donetsk region, who had been forced to leave their homes and now live in the capital.

“Our girls and boys are very brave and strong, but they remain children, who are sensitive and vulnerable. They need attention and support. At the Foundation, we seek to bring them some holiday that the war took away and give them the New Year’s miracles they dreamed of,” says Oksana Boyarynova, project and program manager of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.

The children were delighted to take part in the festive contests, games, and have fun. They enjoyed the sweet gifts they received from the Foundation too.

“I was happy. I ran around and received a gift! There are no words to describe how much I enjoyed it!” admits nine-year-old Nicole from Volnovakha.

The guests of the event were visited by Saint Nicholas and the Angel. Together with them, boys and girls willingly danced, sang, cited some poems, and had a great time.

“My daughter likes it. She is usually very shy at big events. And here I noticed that she relaxed and hopped! When the child is happy, the parents are happy too. It is very good,” commented Viktoria, the mother of one of the participants.

During the New Year season, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation greets internally displaced children, children from orphanages, family-type children’s homes, children who underwent rehabilitation after injury, as well as those who lost their parents in the war. However, the Foundation’s help is not limited to holidays. It implements educational, health-recovery, rehabilitation, psychological and motivational projects for children throughout the year.

“Helping children is one of our priorities. This year, within the framework of the program Rinat Akhmetov for Children, we extensively helped children in finding themselves, in their self-realization, and provided not only gifts, but also delivered some knowledge. This is what they will need in real life,” emphasizes Anatoliy Yevtushenko, Director of Communications of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.

The seasonal holidays continue, and the greeting do so too. To be continued! Follow the course of the New Year Campaign on the website: https://akhmetovfoundation.org/news
