Children from Mariupol attended the New Year's event of Rinat Akhmetov Foundation in Kyiv
The traditional New Year's event, part of the large-scale Rinat Akhmetov to Children programme, was held for boys and girls from Mariupol in Kyiv.
‘Our goal is for every child affected by the war to feel warmth and care, to light a spark of hope in their hearts and believe that everything is possible,’ said Kateryna Zemliana, Project Manager of Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.
For 24 years in a row, Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has been congratulating children who need it most on the winter holidays. And now, despite all the challenges of our wartime, the Foundation's team organises bright events in boarding schools, family-type orphanages, and I'Mariupol support centres for IDPs in different cities of the country.
The main areas of activities of Rinat Akhmetov to Children programme include:
- Organising recreation, health improvement and gaining new knowledge at the Blogger Camp, which is held in the Transcarpathian region for children affected by the war;
- Providing children under 7 years old with state-of-the-art hearing aids that are adjusted to the child's characteristics;
- Providing treatment and rehabilitation in health resorts for children who have been wounded or injured as a result of hostilities.
In addition, Rinat Akhmetov Foundation supports children and teenagers throughout the year by sharing knowledge and advice on motivating self-development and helping them find their dream profession.
Since its inception, Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has supported more than 5 million children.
