More than 2,000 tons of humanitarian assistance from Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center and SCM Group assets are delivered to Donbas since early February

11.02.2017

The Humanitarian Center, DTEK and Metinvest keep on providing consistent and prompt assistance to Donbas on both sides of the contact line. By order of Rinat Akhmetov they united their resources to help civilian population in the areas of active hostilities. More than 2,000 tons of humanitarian aid were delivered through January 31-February 10.

During this period the Humanitarian Center sent six truck convoys with 1,800 tons of food to Donetsk and Mariupol. This allowed to provide uninterrupted operation of 38 fixed issuing points and made it possible for the Center's mobile volunteers to distribute more than 4,500 food packages in 55 villages of the "grey zone" and Amvrosiivka raion in non-government-controlled areas. Among them are: Novotroitske, Berestove, Verkhniokamyanske, Prokhorivka, Trudivske, Berdianske, Prymorske, Kamyshevakha, Blahodatne. This week all the Center's issuing points in non-government-controlled areas resumed their operation in the regular mode.

The Humanitarian Center delivered 10 tons of food to cook hot meals for Avdiivka residents. Metinvest Group enterprises sent 220 tons of humanitarian aid to Avdiivka. These are 34 cubic meters of water, 8 tons of food, 23 diesel generators, 28 tons of diesel fuel, 76 stoves, 213 cubic meters of wooden boards and firewood, fire extinguishers, building materials and warm clothing.

DTEK power engineers restored the damaged power lines near Avdiivka. Thanks to them electricity is back in the town, and power supply of Avdiivka Coke and Donetsk filtration plant is restored. Electricity was also restored in nine more villages of Yasynuvata raion.

Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center continues to monitor information about injured civilians and provide the required assistance. Two injured women from Marinka promptly received medications for their treatment in Kurakhove hospital.

The Humanitarian Center is ready to help all the victims and people injured due to shelling. If you know any facts about civilian injuries, please call the Center's 24/7 hotline: 0800 509 001.

The Center keeps on providing consistent help to Donbas civilians. On February 13 it is planned to send another convoy with food to Donetsk. There is also a food delivery planned by mobile teams for Monday, the trips will be taken to the "grey zone" villages in Marinka and Telmanove raion.
