Five steps to a child from «Say No to Orphanhood!» portal
The specialists of "Say No to Orphanhood!" program of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation developed a step-by-step instruction to adopt a child from sirotstvy.net portal. You are only five steps away from adoption of a child.
Step 1. If you are Ukrainian citizens, first you need to have a written application on your hands and apply for registration, to become a candidate for adoption, to Office of Children's Services at the place of residence. A package of required documents is also attached to the application. More information on how to get a status of prospective adoptive parents can be found if you click on the link.
Step 2. If you've already got the status of prospective adopters of one child or several children from sirotstvy.net and see them in your family, you can call specialists from Children's Services (the contacts are indicated in each form) and schedule a meeting. You should mention the number of the child's form, so that the specialists could understand what child you are talking about.
Step 3. During the meeting specialists from Children's Services tell you about the child's life and health. Note that the specialists of "Say No to Orphanhood!" don't have this information.
Step 4. If after a conversation with a specialist you decide to meet the child, the Children's Services specialist will set the pace to establish contact with the child. Together with Children's Services specialist you will visit the child at the place of his/her residence/stay, you will have a chance to talk to the orphanage management, see the child's original documents, his/her health condition, behavioural features, etc. Meeting the child happens in the presence of Children's Services specialist and representatives of the institution. In the future you will communicate with the child on your own.
Step 5. In case you establish contact with the child, the management of the institution draws up a corresponding statement, which is provided to Children's Services at the location of the institution. Then you have the right to prepare and submit an adoption application to the court (at the place of child's residence/stay).
