"Thank you very much - we were travelling with one bag": evacuated residents of Donetsk region receive help from Rinat Akhmetov Foundation
Evacuation continues in Pokrovskyi district of Donetsk region. Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has delivered humanitarian aid to one of the hubs that hosts people evacuated from the hottest spots in the region.
"Do you know what kind of help this is? It's just super. We were brought here with one bag, no money, nothing. Just our documents and that's it. What would we have done without the humanitarian aid?" says Nataliia, an evacuee from Niu-York.
The vast majority of people do not yet know where they will go next and what awaits them there. Most of them are in the regions in the centre and west of the country.
"This is very much needed help, thank you for it. For the first time, there is everything you need to cook a meal. Even on the road, you can eat canned food," says Svitlana, the head of this evacuation centre.
According to volunteer Mykola Osychenko, the Foundation's ambassador and head of Mariupol TV, people are being taken out of the hot spots every day. The humanitarian aid from Rinat Akhmetov Foundation is still waiting for people, as it is very important for the Foundation to support Ukrainians in difficult times.
Each food package contains pasta, sugar, salt, flour, cereals, sunflower oil, canned beans, stewed meat, pate and biscuits.
Since 2014, the Foundation has donated 13 million food packages to the people of Ukraine. The aid is provided under Rinat Akhmetov Saving Lives programme.
