In April Rinat Akhmetov increases delivery of survival kits to 500,000

26.03.2015

This is twice more than it was sent for peaceful residents of the region in March. Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center enhances its deliveries, as the situation with food in Donbas remains difficult. Today during the press conference Rimma Fil, Coordinator of Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center, shared information on the planned volumes of aid in April and the work results in March.

"In March Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center sent 202 heavy trucks with food to Donbas, for peaceful residents of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as part of 16th Humanitarian Aid Drive. This humanitarian aid is aimed for residents of Donetsk and its neighbourhood, our countrymen, who live in the towns on contact line and those, who left for peaceful territories. Five convoys delivered 250,000 survival kits and 30,000 children's packages for residents of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. We continue implementing all our food delivery programs for civilians, who live in the towns, located inside the contact line, on non-government controlled areas, and in the towns controlled by Ukraine. The towns on the firing line are the special category. We have increased our presence in these towns, doubled it from 25,000 to 50,000 food packages, because of the urgent need in them - the military actions are not suspended there, despite the declared ceasefire" - Rimma Fil summarized the work of Humanitarian Center in March.
April will be even more intensive month for us. The Humanitarian Center increases the volumes of humanitarian aid delivery. In April we will deliver 500,000 survival kits and 30,000 children's packages, which is twice more than in March.

"We understand that our aid is vitally important. Donetsk and other towns, not controlled by Ukrainian government, are having a real food catastrophe, the amount of food in stores in reducing and this situation is worsened by lack of social payments in Donbas. That is why the Humanitarian Center has big plans for April. During April we will send nine humanitarian convoys: seven of them will deliver food to Donbas Arena in Donetsk, and two convoys will be sent for Mariupol. In total we will send 397 heavy trucks to Donbas, which is 6 400 tons of food and 205 tons of goods for children. These are great plans and performance of the goal set by Rinat Akhmetov: to provide maximum assistance to peaceful residents of Donetsk and Luhansk regions", - Rimma Fil, Coordinator of Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center, emphasized.
