Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center opens children summer centre in Komsomolske

20.07.2015

Today, July 20, Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center opened children summer centre in Komsomolske. This is the fourth town in non-government-controlled areas of Donetsk region, where the Humanitarian Center opened a summer centre for children. Earlier they were opened in Donetsk, Yenakiieve and Khartsyzk, today the second shift started in these centres.

"We are glad that we could open the summer centre in Komsomolske. There is a variety of entertainment prepared for local children. There are different games, cognitive quizzes and relays, talent contest, sports competitions and dancing flash mob waiting for them. Not only camp counsellors, but also psychologists from Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center will take care of children. Through games and art therapy the specialists will help children to reduce anxiety, increase self-confidence, develop fantasy and imagination, – Iryna Sobol, the Project Manager, shares. – Children who already stayed and had rest in our centres in other cities were very happy. They had a lot of fun and it was interesting. They also made a lot of new friends. Children, who live in the ATO area and whose life is in danger every day, cannot forget about the war completely, but thanks to this vacation they can get distracted for a while".

As a reminder, during the first shift in children summer centres of Donetsk, Yenakiieve and Khartsyzk 500 children rested and improved their health. All together Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center is planning to organize vacation for 2,700 Donbas children as part of "Peaceful summer for Donbas children" program. 2,200 of these children will be resting in the summer centres, and 500 kids will be taken to Fakel summer camp in Berdiansk.

Children from 8 to 14 years old are invited to children summer centres. All the four shifts in Donetsk centre are formed, but the registration is still available in Yenakiieve, Khartsyzk and Komsomolske. You can find more details about the centres and register here.
