Over 4,000 Makiivka residents receive food products from Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center during the first day of issuing points operation

On the 7th of July four aid issuing points of Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center, providing the most vulnerable categories of local civilians with survival kits, resumed their operation in Makiivka. During the first day of their operation they issued over 4,000 survival kits for adults and children.

"Today there was a long queue at the issuing point. First of all, people, who badly need this humanitarian aid, haven't received it for a long time. Secondly, the number of invited aid recipients, who have meal tickets, was twice higher than we usually have per day. All people were glad and thankful that they are not forgotten", – Elena Vakarenko, coordinator at the issuing point in Tsentralno-Miskyi district, shares. 

Due to the escalated military conflict and closed checkpoint in Kurakhove, Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center could deliver only half of the planned volume of humanitarian aid to non-government-controlled areas of Donbas in June. That is the reason why most of the issuing points in both regions are closed; in Makiivka survival kits haven't been issued for 3 weeks.

"Today 4 Humanitarian Center's issuing points in Makiivka resumed humanitarian aid issuance. Thanks to intensified food supplies to Donetsk since the very beginning of July, we managed to reduce the shortage of food packages at Donbas Arena warehouse and resume the operation outside Donetsk. The high demand of Donbas civilians in humanitarian aid remains relevant, and we continue our scheduled deliveries. Only this week they will send 3 convoys with 87,000 survival kits for adults and children, all aimed for civilians of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, living in ATO area", – Grigory Koldunov, Director of Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center, commented.
