First Food Assistance Packages from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation Distributed in Pokrovsk
The first food assistance packages from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation were handed out in Pokrovsk. This targeted assistance is meant for internally displaced persons from the region’s hotspots. In the first place, for those evacuated from Volnovakha.
In particular, the humanitarian aid was received by IDPs in Bilozerska, Dobropilska, Myrnohradska, Novohrodivska, Pokrovska, Selydivska, Kurakhivska urban territorial communities, as well as in Shakhivska and Kryvorizka (Pokrovskyi district) rural territorial communities.
The packages include some essential food products, such as flour, pasta, sugar, stewed meat, pate and cookies.
‘The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and Metinvest Company were among the first to swing into action. In addition to providing volunteers and transport vehicles, there are also food assistance packages that are much needed by our IDPs today. We are very thankful to the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation,’ said Ruslan Trebushkin, mayor of Pokrovsk town.
The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation is delivering a total of 100,000 food packages meant for residents of Eastern Ukraine.
The assistance is provided in the framework of the program Rinat Akhmetov – Saving Lives. During 16 years of its operation, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation helped eight million people survive, three and a half million of them were saved in Donbass.
